“How long was I asleep..?” She pondered aloud, although she knew no one was around to hear; she didn’t even know if she’d made a jump, or simply hibernated in the last world she’d visited. Of course, it only took a moment of thought for the latter to be cast away as outlandish– if she were stuck somewhere cold long enough to induce hibernation, she would have long since succumbed to the cold, alone as she was.
“Do I like where I was born..?”
Rose let out a light laugh and nodded her head enthusiastically, following that with a light-hearted ‘Mhm!’ as she folded her hands behind her back. “Of course I do! I love where I was born; Xanuri’s a beautiful planet despite all the problems its faced, and even though I’ve visited many worlds since the start of my mission I have yet to find one that could ever surpass it in my eyes.”
“Maybe… When all this mess has been cleared up, I can bring some of the friends I’ve made during my travels with me to Xanuri for a visit. That would be nice, I think…”
“Xa-nu-ri~” Rose pronounced her world’s name with the other, nodding with an enthusiastic ‘uh-huh!’ when they finished. “It’s a big world that’s very beautiful with magic running through the earth, giving life to people like me and many other beings who live there. It’s very nice to meet you, Karol.” She was quite pleased that Karol hadn’t dismissed her words as lies or fantasy right away, for many times had she told of her homeland only to be teased for being over-imaginative. While it wasn’t always so bad to hear, after many occurrences it did start to wear on her after a little while.
“Oh.. Are you sure?” She queried. “…I don’t wish to intrude if it would be a bother. I do well in the outdoors, are you sure it would be fine if I stayed??"
"Monsters..?” Echoed the girl, turning her head and finally catching sight of the eyes staring back at the two of them from within bushes and behind branches. “Oh,” She muttered. “I… see what you mean. Well, I suppose I don’t have much of a choice now do I? My magic’s way too weak to conjure anything right away, so…” Trailing off, she took one last look at the monsters before inching her way over to Karol and hugging her book close to her chest as her worried gaze turned warm and she smiled at the other.
“Do I like it when it rains..? Of course I do~!”
“I know a lot of people I’ve seen, minus those of my kind of course, don’t really like getting caught up in the rain— which I totally understand of course because I can see why people who aren’t so tightly bound to nature wouldn’t find any appeal of getting their clothes soaked in the rain. It can be a real bother!”
“However for myself and the other Flower Children, rainy days for us are treated the same as sunny, beautiful days. We all like to play in it— we don’t get sick like you do… Only if it’s far too cold, like if it were snowing or something. Rain also helps to give us energy and keeps us healthy, much like it does with regular flowers. Whenever I travel to a distant world and it starts to rain, I feel like I’m closer to home and get homesick far less.”
